Koryn's Farewell gown

Hello everyone,
The first thing you might be wondering is "Who is Koryn in the first place?" Answer: She's one of the main characters in my movie. :)

I found this wine-colored fabric (Actually my Mom did) at a yard sale and realized that there was enough of it to make a dress. :D

Renaissance/a little bit of Grecian style was my inspiration:

The neckline has a casing threaded with a ribbon for adjustment. I un-tucked the ribbon so you could see:

Fidelia's Travelling Gown

Hello everyone!

~*~I got my first dress form today! My parents and grandparents got it for me for my birthday. :D I'm very happy with it. x) ~*~

This costume I designed and drafted. It is the last costume my character (Fidelia) wears in the movie, it could be called her "Farewell" gown as well. I made it out of some cool textured gold fabric that I found at a yard-sale.

~Pieces~
~A white under-dress
~A gold split-skirt over-dress
~A gold fabric belt

The design is slightly inspired by Eowyn's Shield Maiden gown (The under-dress part) and Arwen's rose-colored dress (The over-dress part):

The sleeves are split down the side/back:

For the lacing a did a simple "Big 'X' Little 'x'" pattern:

Movie Costume Monday~Buttercup

Hello everyone,
Today's Movie Costume Monday comes from the classic "Princess Bride" It's one of my favorite movies.
Their costumes are awesome; especially Buttercup's. But i had to pick only one so I decided on her wedding gown:

I love how this one looks when she jumps out the window  :)  Her crown is also beautiful.

Isn't it gorgeous? :D

What's your favorite costume from Princess bride? Have a fantastic Monday everyone!

Movie Costume Monday~ Dastan

Happy Monday everyone!
Today's movie costume comes from the movie Prince of Persia. The costumes in the movie are amazing, but one of my all-time favorites is Prince Dastan's battle costume.

Lots of leather...lots of metal...red sash...awesome sword...Where can you go wrong? :)

His sword is also awesome:
What's your favorite costume from Prince of Persia? I am considering making the first one Tamina wears. What do you think? Have a fantastic Monday everyone!

Fidelia's white dress and red corset

Hello everyone,

This costume is one I designed (I drafted the dress myself and altered a pattern for the corset). This is the first costume my character (Fidelia) wears in the movie, and fits her personality perfectly I think. Simple, like her time-period (White flowing dress) but with her rather fiery personality incorporated  into that time ( The bright red corset and boots). Anyways, here it is...

Pieces:
White dress
Bright red corset
Pirate boots
And a belt (Not pictured)

The bottom of the corset comes to a graceful point in the middle, giving it a little more pirate-style.

The dress is slightly longer in the back.  I also purposefully gave this dress a large hem, to make it heavier at the bottom, thus allowing it to drape properly.

The sleeves are draw-string at the bottom, giving it a renaissance look to it, while also giving it some versatility.

I made the dress out of some heavy-ish soft white linen.

In the next picture you can see a little of the aging I gave it. (It will get more through the making of the movie)

Without the boots and the corset, and the sleeves undone, it makes a nice night-gown.

Farewell for now,
