Movie Costume Monday~Galadriel

Hello everyone,

Today I felt like doing something mystical, as well as beautiful for today's Movie Costume Monday. So, naturally, I decided on Galadriel. Her gown is so beautiful as well as slightly mysterious. :)

Hmmmmmmm I just got the need to acquire a pitcher like that. :D

Have a fantastic day everyone!

Koryn's Farewell gown

Hello everyone,
The first thing you might be wondering is "Who is Koryn in the first place?" Answer: She's one of the main characters in my movie. :)

I found this wine-colored fabric (Actually my Mom did) at a yard sale and realized that there was enough of it to make a dress. :D

Renaissance/a little bit of Grecian style was my inspiration:

The neckline has a casing threaded with a ribbon for adjustment. I un-tucked the ribbon so you could see:

Velvet Formal Cape

Hello everyone,

In the middle of December I attended a winter formal, and thought I'd share with you the cape I made to wear to it. A Medieval/Elvish design was my inspiration.

I made it out of some soft grey/silver velvet that I purchased at Joann's:

I did not make the dress, but I wanted you to see how it looked with it:

I got this cool clasp at Hobby Lobby. They always have so many adorable ones. :)

It was so much fun to make. :) I love working with velvet. :D

And for a little more fun, I added a hood:

It drapes very nicely and is extremely comfortable to wear.

I made slightly shorter in the front, draping down to it's full length in the back:

Movie Costume Monday~ Watson

Happy Monday everyone!
Today's Movie Costume Monday comes from the new Sherlock Holmes movie. As I watched the movie I was amazed by the costumes, but as I can only pick one for today's MCM, I decided on Watson's. I have always been a fan of that  time period+location :)

I love his coats, but, I think his hat is definitely my all-time favorite. :)

Have a great week everyone! I promise I will post about another costume as soon as I can get my memory card working again. Farewell,

Movie Costume Monday~ Pevensies

Hello everyone,

Narnian style has always been a favorite of mine. :) So I decided on the Pevensies' Farewell outfits, (I couldn't pick just one)  for this week's Movie Costume Monday:

All of them are so different I can't decide which I like best :)

Brielle made a wonderful recreation of Susan's Farewell gown. Click here.

Apologies

Good morning,
Unfortunately my memory card on my camera is not wanting to upload. So, until we fix that, I cannot post. It will probably only be a couple days, but I didn't want you thinking I forgot about the blog. :P Movie Costume Monday will be coming tomorrow as usual. :)

Farewell,

Fidelia's Travelling Gown

Hello everyone!

~*~I got my first dress form today! My parents and grandparents got it for me for my birthday. :D I'm very happy with it. x) ~*~

This costume I designed and drafted. It is the last costume my character (Fidelia) wears in the movie, it could be called her "Farewell" gown as well. I made it out of some cool textured gold fabric that I found at a yard-sale.

~Pieces~
~A white under-dress
~A gold split-skirt over-dress
~A gold fabric belt

The design is slightly inspired by Eowyn's Shield Maiden gown (The under-dress part) and Arwen's rose-colored dress (The over-dress part):

The sleeves are split down the side/back:

For the lacing a did a simple "Big 'X' Little 'x'" pattern:

Their costumes are awesome; especially Buttercup's. But i had to pick only one so I decided on her wedding gown:

I love how this one looks when she jumps out the window  :)  Her crown is also beautiful.

Isn't it gorgeous? :D

Rum Island Shift

Happy New Year everyone!
I finally got pictures of this costume so here we go...

This is one of Elizabeth's costumes in the first Pirates of the Carribean movie. I have actually never seen the movie, but have seen pictures and study pages on this costume, and couldn't resist to make it. :)

I made it out of some soft white linen:

My friends and I made this belt out of wooden beads, I thought it looked piratey:

I ran out of white eyelets, so I painted some silver ones :P

Here's a sneak peek on tomorrow's Movie Costume Monday:

Farewell for now,
