Scottish Renaissance Costume

I made this costume for the Renaissance festival this last year. I wanted a Scottish style with warm colors and I wanted it to be comfortable (After all, I was going to be wearing it all day). :D

I've had the brown fabric for forever, and the plaid just showed up one day in a bag of fabric that no one wanted. I love when that happens. :D I designed it myself, but found a pattern and used it for the bodice.

I left the edge frayed after I washed it, I thought it looked good.

Lady Pirate Costume

Good morning,

This costume I put together a week or so ago.
I was needing a pirate, but didn't have the right fabric to make another tunic, so I grabbed a tunic I made wow ummm...last spring maybe? And the leather belt/sash thing for my Lucy Voyage of the Dawn Treader costume, a brown belt that was just hanging in my closet, a cape I made for my character (Fidelia) to wear in the movie, and a hat one of my friends gave me. I love how the look turned out, almost like it was supposed to go together. :P I love when that happens. :D

Rum Island Shift

Happy New Year everyone!
I finally got pictures of this costume so here we go...

This is one of Elizabeth's costumes in the first Pirates of the Carribean movie. I have actually never seen the movie, but have seen pictures and study pages on this costume, and couldn't resist to make it. :)

I made it out of some soft white linen:

My friends and I made this belt out of wooden beads, I thought it looked piratey:

I ran out of white eyelets, so I painted some silver ones :P

Here's a sneak peek on tomorrow's Movie Costume Monday:

Fidelia's white dress and red corset

Hello everyone,

This costume is one I designed (I drafted the dress myself and altered a pattern for the corset). This is the first costume my character (Fidelia) wears in the movie, and fits her personality perfectly I think. Simple, like her time-period (White flowing dress) but with her rather fiery personality incorporated  into that time ( The bright red corset and boots). Anyways, here it is...

Pieces:
White dress
Bright red corset
Pirate boots
And a belt (Not pictured)

The bottom of the corset comes to a graceful point in the middle, giving it a little more pirate-style.

The dress is slightly longer in the back.  I also purposefully gave this dress a large hem, to make it heavier at the bottom, thus allowing it to drape properly.

The sleeves are draw-string at the bottom, giving it a renaissance look to it, while also giving it some versatility.

I made the dress out of some heavy-ish soft white linen.

In the next picture you can see a little of the aging I gave it. (It will get more through the making of the movie)

Without the boots and the corset, and the sleeves undone, it makes a nice night-gown.

Farewell for now,
